ZGS Communications, a multi-media company, seeks Account Executive Sales candidates. Must be self-motivated to cultivate new business, direct, outside sales and generate on-line and non-traditional revenue. Duties include prospecting, cold-calling and maintaining existing business. Candidate must have 2-5 years sales experience (preferably media or online sales) and be able to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.

Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. Candidate should have excellent presentation skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple clients. The successful candidate must be a team player, a self-starter and have the ability to work well with management and additional sales staff. Attention to detail and follow through is critical. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

News Reporter – El Paso, TX

KTDO-TV has an opening for a Reporter/Editor who can enterprise and report compelling local news. Can you “One –Man Band”? Do you love beat reporting? Are you skilled at developing stories and contacts? We are looking for an imaginative storyteller who can take a routine story and make viewers care about it.

The Reporter position is primarily responsible for gathering news and then preparing the information gathered for on-air presentation. This individual will write news copy, prepare voice-overs, perform stand-up’s, and edit the story. The individual must be a good communicator, exhibit strong traits, of creativity, initiative, judgment and ability, work well with others, and take direction from management, regarding job performance and on air appearance. Able to control high stress periods and heavy workload. Knowledge of journalistic standards as they relate to on-air presentation of news stories. Accurate and comprehensive writing skills. Ability to act and react appropriately on camera. Ability to maintain professional personal appearance.

Ideal candidate must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish and a strong writer in SPANISH with experience generating story ideas. Must be able to respond to breaking news. Ability to lift and transport standard camera equipment. Candidate will also be responsible for regularly updating company’s website; posting news or videos online; and coordinating web content with digital team. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required. Access to an automobile if needed for transportation.Must be able to edit their own material and work well under deadline pressure. This position requires flexible hours, and may include anchoring.

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Broadcast Communication, Journalism, or related field, 2 years of reporting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Research Analyst – Arlington, VA

ZGS Communications is searching for a highly motivated candidate to fill the position of Research Analyst. Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects within a short turnaround time, be resourceful and work independently

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Support television and radio stations in creation of sales and marketing materials
Compile research data into presentation formats
Research and collect information on targeted advertising categories
Analyze, maintain and update qualitative and quantitative information with station and client needs in mind
Monitor market and competitive trends
Manage distribution of daily/weekly reports

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Business, Marketing related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Writing samples required)
Proficient in basic business software Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Experience in the creation of reports and presentations produced for research and sales.
Conversant in Spanish a plus.
Experience in cable, broadcast or syndication research department a plus
Experience with Nielsen, Scarborough and Polk software systems also a plus

News Director – San Antonio, TX

ZGS Communications is searching for an outstanding candidate with demonstrated experience working in Spanish-language television to fill the position of News Director at our Telemundo affiliate television station in San Antonio.

KVDA-TV is looking for an experienced News Director with the skills and drive to produce newscasts better then the rest. Must be an excellent story teller, a creative thinker and have strong news judgment. The successful candidate must be willing to work a variety of shifts possibly including nights, weekends, or early mornings.

Creative, self-starter who has experience producing live newscasts, the ability to produce compelling, well-written, fast paced, visually interesting shows while working under pressure and tight deadlines.

Will oversee the news department budget, daily planning, gathering, preparation and presentation of news on KVDA in providing useful, relevant and high quality news and information content that serves our viewers needs. Will direct the development of newscast substance, including weather, sports, special events projects, planning sweeps and in executing a style of news coverage and presentation that is consistent with KVDA’s brand. Manage, hire and train the news and production staff.

Excellent tease writing skills, excellent use of grammar and spelling IN SPANISH. Must be well read and well informed about current events in the San Antonio region and be able to generate several timely news stories on a daily basis.

Candidate will also be responsible for regularly updating company’s website; posting news or videos online; and coordinating web content with digital team.
Successful applicant must be able to manage people and be a dependable, hard-working member of the KVDA team.

Minimum Qualifications All must be met to be considered
Education: College degree in Journalism or other related field

Corporate Staff Accountant - Arlington, VA

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment offering long-term growth potential.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accurate reporting
Record journal entries on a periodic (monthly) basis primarily relating to accruals, prepaid expenses, and other Corporate-level accounts
Prepare supporting schedules for interim and annual audits
Analyze monthly trends and variances
Meet with various levels of management on a monthly basis to discuss operating highlights
Research and communicate with various corporate departments the reasons for account balance fluctuations
Review of invoices and other documents to determine proper accounting treatment
Prepare quarterly account roll-forwards
Prepare budgets and forecasts
Support the annual planning process
Recommend process improvements as appropriate to create greater efficiency

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience
Bachelor degree in accounting or related field is preferred, but comparable accomplishments in accounting/finance will be considered.
Candidate must have working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, be detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills in order to interact with multiple levels within the corporation.
Must be a team player.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
